Maddison Kelly - Gateway Twitching

An obsession for visual confirmation drives the relentless pursuit of rare bird species, or twitching. In these new works, fixations with animal witnessing are considered through observation of international birding webcams. Resulting charcoal drawings offer records of digital animals, their spectral lives, and the representational strategies used to summon them.
